Prevailing Hope Academy

Mission

Prevailing Hope Academy is dedicated to empowering non-speaking autistic individuals by providing education and communication programs for individuals who use letterboards or keyboards as a primary tool for expression. Our mission is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to access high-quality, age-appropriate education that unlocks their potential and amplifies their voice. We strive to break down barriers, create inclusive educational environments, and promote a deeper understanding of the capabilities and needs of individuals who communicate differently.

Prevailing Hope Academy is a microschool program designed to provide non-speaking, minimally speaking, and unreliably speaking students with a rich, age-appropriate education that acknowledges and nurtures their intellectual capabilities. Through the use of letterboards for both education and communication, we offer a comprehensive curriculum that includes World History, Language Arts with a focus on literature and poetry, Mathematics with personalized instruction for advanced learners, and Earth Science. Our program also integrates therapeutic art, purposeful motor activities to enhance the mind-body connection, and therapeutic music classes, fostering a well-rounded educational experience.

In addition to our core curriculum, we offer after-school individual music lessons classes for students seeking to further develop their skills. Operating three days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 AM to 2 PM—Prevailing Hope Academy is committed to helping students improve their fluency on the spelling boards while providing an enriching and supportive learning environment tailored to their unique needs.
